The course is led by Armando Garcia and David Atkinson-Beaumont. Armando holds a Master’s Degree in Film Studies and numerous Autodesk accreditations. He specialises in 3D design, animation and compositing. Armando leads the Visual Effects (VFX) and 3D modules on the Diploma and also acts as pastoral lead for NextGen students.

Armando shares the course management with David, who holds a Master’s Degree in Computing and specialises in the programming and games engine elements of the course. David is responsible for scheduling and resourcing everything needed to make the NextGen experience as outstanding as it can be.


Truro and Penwith Level 3 students

Progression routes

From the NextGen Level 3 course, students could progress to a degree or foundation degree which specialises in their chosen role within the industry, including the Foundation Degree in Computer Games Design and Production at Truro and Penwith College. Alternatively, students could follow a Higher Apprenticeship route to training and employment.

Course cost

The NextGen Skills Academy Level 3 Extended Diploma in Games, Animation & VFX Skills is fully funded for 16- to 19-year-old students.
