Aspiring creatives are invited to apply for a VFX or Junior Animator Apprenticeship! Apprenticeships are an exciting alternative route in the industry and very different to a formal full-time course, with the majority of learning happening in the workplace. Successful applicants will be trained on the job by people at the very top of their game, gaining valuable experience and up-to-date industry specific skills.

NextGen is proud to be working with employers to recruit for four apprenticeship positions:

Junior 2D Artist (VFX)

Assistant Technical Director (VFX)

Junior VFX Artist Generalist (VFX)

Junior Animator (Animation)

All Apprenticeship Standards have been created by trailblazing groups of employers to increase opportunities and diversity within the industry, with 80% of learning happening in the workplace.

The other 20% of learning time is spent studying 'off the job' in a mix of structured remote learning, calls with a development coach, and in-person contact. This learning programme builds the skills to work in entry level roles that the Games, Animation and VFX industries see as critical. Throughout their training apprentices are employed and paid a wage, have holiday pay and employment perks, and unlike a degree can complete their training in just two years, have two years of studio experience, and start their career without any student debt.

Applications are open now! For more information visit the VFX Apprenticeship and Junior Animator Apprenticeship pages.

Recruitment closes at midnight on Sunday 29th January. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to a selection day with employers in February for positions starting in March/April 2023.

If you’re an employer in Games, Animation, VFX or Immersive and would like to find out how apprenticeship works and the benefits for your company please email us for an informal chat.
